Under a new agreement streamlining, UAE nationals have been exempted from obtaining a visa prior to their entry in the People’s Republic of China.
Emiratis can now spend up to 30 days on each of their visit to China, starting from 16th January 2018. A memorandum of understanding was signed with regards to this agreement.
The United Arab Emirates and China have diplomatic relations since November 1984 and the Emirati Embassy also opened its doors in Beijing on 19th March 2017.
Emiratis will soon be allowed to visit Japan for up to 30 days, visa free. This rule is said to come in effect from 1st July 2018. The Emiratis with ordinary e-passports have to fill in a simple form and pre-register at the Japan embassies, free of charge.
Holders of newly registered e-passport are allowed to enter Japan as many times as they want during a period of 3 years or whenever their passport expires — whichever is said to come first.
In the meantime, UAE nationals possessing valid diplomatic or special passports and who wish to travel to Japan can enter Japan for a period of not more than 90 frequent days can enter without a visa.
The Emirati citizens are currently obliged a visa free or visa on arrival access to over 121 countries and territories which is more in number than any other GCC country.
