Kotor Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Baroque town of Perast, also unveils some of Montenegro’s finest examples of Medieval architecture and sacred monuments.Lying in the bay to the front of Perast are two islands .According to legend, the island was created over many centuries by seamen who, having found an icon of the Madonna and Child on a rock in the sea in July 1452, upon returning from each successful voyage, would lay another rock next to it in the Bay. Over time, the island gradually emerged from the sea.

On the opposite side of the islands, at the foot of Mount St. Elias is a small town called Perast. Perast got a name from the Illyrian tribe Pirusta, which had turbulent history. In the city have been found remains from Neolithic culture (3500 year. BC). This small baroque city had its coultural peak in the 17th and 18th centurie.
