That being said, for fact it is true that this Paradise is worth the price!

If you’re an independent traveler, then there are various things to remember.

1.       How would you get there?

Living in a country like UAE, which is accessible from any part of the world, it is a perfect opportunity to choose one of the National Carrier (Emirates/Etihad) or Low Cost Carrier (Air Arabia/Fly Dubai) or the National Carrier of Seychelles i.e. Air Seychelles. Always look for good deals on online portals to get the best price for your travel.

There are frequent flights from Dubai or Abu Dhabi to Seychelles with a travel time of 4 hours and 36 minutes.

2. When should you go?

The best time to visit Seychelles are the months of April, May, October and November.

Summers in Seychelles: May to September.

Winters in Seychelles: October to April.

Surprisingly, during the off season that are many chances of getting a good package deal even from the luxurious resorts.

3.       The best islands to visit?

For any independent traveler, there are three most recommended islands.

  1. Mahe; which is the largest and the most visited island. It is also home to the international airport of Seychelles.

Mahe’s main attractions: Best known for adventure and water activities like trail-walking, snorkeling and swimming.

  1. Praslin; which has a quieter vibe than Mahe. It is also known for its plenty of sand stretches.

Praslin’s main attractions: Best known for nature and heritage sites like Vallee de Mai natural reserve and the Wild Coco de Mer which is the world’s largest coconut.

  1. La Digue; which is Seychelles classic escape. It is the island of peace without any street lights obstructing the shine of the moon and stars.

La Digue main attractions: Best known for its beaches such as Anse Source d’Argent and coves like Grand and Petite Anse. (Coves are small sheltered bays)

You could say that these islands are quite affordable as there are various resorts and hotel chains who have invested here that offer good deals to the tourists. It is manageable if you cut down your costs of trying the luxury here.

What makes Seychelles expensive are its remote islands. These islands may not have all the tourist’s resources but are extremely good for its tourist’s attractions and island-hopping.

Many of these islands are only possible to visit through airways and the airfares are always touching the sky. These islands are privately owned by exclusive resorts.

4.       Cheap eats with a peaceful sleep?

Luxury resorts are flourishing in Seychelles but due to the increase number of tourists hopping in, various B&B and homestays have also started being available for the independent travelers. If you’re an independent traveler, it is also recommended to stay with the locals to experience the authenticity of this island.

Discounts are also being offered if you’re willing to stay for longer. So, it is advisable to stay in one place rather than hopping between islands, to save your money. All the accommodations are registered under the Ministry of tourism, so you need not worry about the standard of services and facilities, they are all satisfactory.

When it comes to munching in Seychelles, restaurants within the resorts are said to be expensive. But, you can be rescued by spending 50$ a day for a meal. The solution are the cheap beachside cafes and stalls that provide local delicacies. You can also cook for yourself, by buying fresh fruits and vegetables and fish from the local markets of the islands.

TIP: If you’re an independent traveler who can afford something pricy then try to choose your accommodation with all-in-one exclusive package with all the three meals.

5.       How to get around in Seychelles?

Taxis and care hires are expensive, so buses are a cheaper mode of transportation to move around the country. And if you’re an active traveler then bicycle rides or scooters are also a good choice. You can book them through your accommodation or from Anse Volbert.

And the cheapest way of getting across the islands are the cheap ferry services available. You can also choose for the island-hopping tours to explore the islands.

6.       The budget to enjoy in Seychelles?

The approximate budget you would require to spend per day in Seychelles inclusive of your accommodation and food is around $50-100.

Snorkeling and other underwater activities come at price so you can always get your snorkeling equipment along or rent them from your hotels or resorts.

One good thing about Seychelles is that none of the beaches are exclusively owned by resorts which means they are open for the public.

Hiring a local guide could be a good way to explore and learn more about the unique flora and fauna Seychelles has to offer.
